We have a two year old!

This past Friday our little girl turned two years old. It is hard to believe that it has already been two years since John and I have been thrust into the most intense, scariest situation of our marriage. Not knowing if your child will be blue, have any color, be breathing at all, be alive, et. Those are all many things that most first time parents do not go into delivering their first child thinking about; it happened to be ALL we could think about. Hearing Mikayla Elizabeth give a faint cry right after she was pulled out of was the most beautiful sound I had ever heard. In fact, it is still to this day, two days later, the most beautiful sound that I have ever heard! The time that she was in the NICU was the most intense, scary, most emotional roller coaster we have ever been on. We were so blessed with the most amazing doctors and nurses who not only took care of Kayla while she was in the NICU, but they also took care of us. Seeing your child sick and in critical care and a critical condition is nothing that I would wish upon anyone ever. It is the most gut wrenching, heart breaking thing to witness; your child fighting every minute for our life. We are so blessed to have a beautiful healthy two year od little girl running around and making our house a mess! I thank our Heavenly Father every day that we were blessed to be called her parents.
